Folkestone 2125

The idea for the artwork was to imagine an area of Folkestone within the not too distant future. The theme was that due to global warming, the sea level would rise and the surrounding areas of the harbour would be underwater. This would cause alternative transportation to arise and new buildings to be made.

I chose the Grand Burstin Hotel as a subject for the background, so as to pinpoint the area of change, as it’s easily identifiable within Folkestone.

My sole reference for completing the image was from the artworks of Jean Giraud, the famous Comic Book illustrator, also known as Moebius.
